Dear all,
The IBACS IDEA Committee is hosting a mid-semester Mentoring & Teaching Discussion for graduate students and postdocs, and we’d love for you to join us, whether you’ve come before or this is your first time!
Please RSVP by Friday, Oct. 23, at 5:00 PM: RSVP here
We’re asking everyone who plans to attend to RSVP so we can get a sense of in-person attendance and make sure we have a room that can comfortably accommodate everyone. If we have a larger turnout than expected, we may move to a different room, so your response will be helpful!
Now that the semester is well underway, this session is a chance to check in on how mentoring and teaching are going. As before, we’ll build the conversation around the questions and topics you bring. Whether you’re a first-time TA, guest lecturer, or instructor of record; a grad student supervising undergrads; or a new postdoc mentoring for the first time, this is a space to think it through together with peers.
How to participate:
Anonymous contributions are welcome, and you can upvote topics others have added. We’ve included a few starter topics to get things going.
2. Join us in person or on Teams on Oct. 28!
Even if you can’t attend, feel free to add a question. We’ll capture the discussion and share it back.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Best,
Jillian
